Hand-turned, three-legged wooden "triangle" stool, made of ash with a woven rush seat.

Approximately 24 inches tall, and about 18 inches on each side. These stools weigh roughly 5 pounds each, but will support several hundred pounds without difficulty. The upright legs are about 2 inches in diameter, and the horizontal portions are about 1-1/4 inches thick. These are assembled in the traditional fashion, using no nails, screws, or glue.

Stools such as this are depicted in hundreds of pieces of artwork from the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries. They are shown in settings from the roughest peasant huts to the manors of the highest nobility. They can be used as stools, small side-tables, or stands for other items.

I finish the stools (wood only) with clear satin polyurethane; I can apply a gloss finish, or leave unfinished, by request at no charge. I can also apply a walnut stain, or paint the wood, for an additional sum. (Available colors are brick red, forest green, royal blue, or bright yellow.) ***I do not finish, stain, or paint the rush seating.***

Due to the hand-made nature of these stools, and the variations inherent in the wood, no two will be exactly alike.
